Alonzo Wilson, Jr. 82, affectionately known to his friends and family as “Motor Mouth” was born on Aug. 20, 1934 in Martin County to the late Maggie Davis and Alonzo Wilson Sr. Alonzo departed to his eternal rest on Thursday June 1, 2017.
Alonzo received his education in Martin County. He graduated at Booker T. Washington High School, Norfolk, Virginia. He joined the United States Marine Corps in 1953 and he reenlisted in 1956. He received an honorable discharged in 1959. He loved reading his bible, watching TV and was a Redskins fan. Most of all he loved his family. He was passionate about taking care of his wife whom he called Chris.
Alonzo married the love of his life, Christine Gibbs on March 16, 1984 in Norfolk Va. He devoted his life to his wife and family. All that he accomplished was a reflection of his love for his family. Everything he did was an expression of love and caring for others.
Alonzo leaves to cherish his sweet memories; his devoted and loving wife, Christine Wilson, his children, son’s Harry Wilson Las Vegas, Nevada. Barry Wilson Norfolk VA, Robert Woolard (Alesia) Virginia Beach, VA, Bobby Woolard, Curtis Woolard of Williamston, NC. Daughters Elizabeth Taylor San Dimas California, Vera Smith and Pamela Ellison of Virginia Beach, VA, Sandra Simon of Norfolk VA, Tammy Woolard of Hampton, VA and Linda Gibson (George) of Williamston, NC, Mavisteen Woolard and Lois Blount of Williamston, NC. Three sisters Fannie Penny of New York, Joan Davis and Maggielean “Mclean” Striven of Williamston, NC and a host of grandchildren. Nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother Johnny Spruill and special Uncle W.T. Whitley.
