Annie Lucille Wallace (aka “Lucy”, aka “Aunt Lucy”) was born in Dillon, South Carolina on August 2nd, 1954. She was the first of ten children to Benjamin Brock and Ethel Mae Jones Brock. Lucy grew up in Dillon, South Carolina, where she was educated in the public-school system.
She was a graduate of Dillon High School. At a very young age, she was baptized and became a member of the Little Rock Methodist Church.
Shortly after graduating, Lucy moved to Hempstead, New York. After working for some time at Nassau University Medical Center as a dietary aide, she me Cecil Steven Wallace. Two years later, on December 9th, 1982, Cecil and Lucy solidified their union in marriage. This union created three beautiful daughters.
After working for thirteen years, Lucy decided to retire to become a full-time mother and wife. Lucy was known to make THE BEST sweet potato pies. She loved to cook and experiment with new recipes. Lucy was well known for feeding anyone and everyone. She loved music and would often say that her voice sounds like Roberta Flack’s. Above all else, Lucy was a shining light of love, in its purest form.
Lucy was predeceased in death by her father, Calvin Paige; mother, Ethel Mae Payton; step-father Benjamin Brock; sister, Martha Lee Brock; and brother, Reggie Payton.
She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, Cecil Steven Wallace (Norfolk, Virginia); three children, Nicole Wallace (Norfolk, Virginia), Natalie Wallace (Manassas, Virginia), and Stephanie Wallace (Manassas, Virginia); five grandchildren, Christian, Ailani, Kaamilah, Shamir, and Aminah; three brothers, Gerald Brock (Dillon, South Carolina), Leander Brock (Hempstead, New York), and Ricky Brock (Lewisville, Texas); four sisters, Mildred Brock (Hempstead, New York), Mary Mack (Bo, Dillon, South Carolina), Wanda Payton (Hempstead, New York), and Juana Payton (Dillon, South Carolina); mother-in-law, Florence Wallace (Alabama); aunts Jesse Jones (Durham, North Carolina) and Ida Mae Jones (Brooklyn, New York); and an immense number of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and lifetime friends.
