On July 11, 2017, Gayle E. Allen slipped away peacefully to her new heavenly home. She was born to the late Oscar and Gladys Tanner Vidal. She was predeceased by her husband, Clifton Allen. Gayle attended Norfolk Public Schools and was a former member of the New Rose of Sharon Baptist Church and a member of the Beauty Bunch. She was a former employee of New City Optical. Gayle was a loving and caring person who never met a stranger. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. Her favorite song was “Take Me to the King” and she loved fried chicken. She loved the Dallas Cowboys. She leaves to cherish her memory, a son, Lloyd Charles, 5 grandchildren, Keisha, Kenisha, Aniya, Anthony and Rynell; one sister, Carolyn Saunders and one niece, Felicia, and 2 special cousins Gilda and Eva, and a host of other relatives and friends.
