James W. Blue was born September 4, 1957 in Winston NC.  He was predeceased by his mother Rosa Lee Blue & biological father James Blue, Sr.  Many knew him as “BABY”.  He was predeceased by ex-wife  Thomasine Blue and he was survived by ex- wife Ms. Avis Blue and current wife Rhonda Floyd Blue.  He was survived by his biological daughter Ebony Blue along with his step-children Wilma Parson, Wanda Parson, Valletta Anthony, Khadijah Anthony, Nakia Floyd and Willie Floyd, Jr.   He was also survived by his grandchildren Shaquone Blue, Shaquayla Norfleet, Shelvonte Blue, Zykia Parson, Shelvin Norfleet, Jr., Zyonte Parson, Sh-Cameron Blue, Zyonia Parson and a host of others. 

He graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in Norfolk, Virginia.  He then went on to work for Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority as a Supervisor where he retired due to his medical conditions.  He sang with various choirs at St. Marys’ Catholic Church and St. Peters United Holiness Church.  His favorite song to sing was I’m on the Right Road Now.   God called him home on February 10, 2017.  Words can’t express just how much he meant to our family.  We miss you, We love you & you will always be loved and never forgotten.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 on Friday, February 17, 2017 at the Chapel of Keith Matthews Funeral Home. Viewing will be on Thursday from 3:00 until 8:00.
