September 24, 2017

On Sunday, September 24. 2017, our beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, niece, cousin and friend was called home to be with our Lord. Valerie( Bear Bear) was born October 7, 1961 to William King and the late Naomi B. Smith. Valerie graduated from Deep Creek High School in 1980 and then later joined the Job Corp where she received a trade in several areas. She held many jobs once completing the Job Corp however her favorite was working at Norfolk Veneer Mills Lumber Company as one of the Assembly Line Operators. From an early age, Valerie attended St. Mark United Church of Christ where she was a dedicated member and served on the No. 2 Usher Board. She was also a member of the Praise and Worship team and occasionally sang with the Women's Day Choir. Valerie had a sweet and kind spirit and was always smiling and laughing. She found the positive in everyone and would give the very best hugs!! Valerie was someone who stayed on the move and enjoyed being on the dance floor where she many times was the life of any party or family gathering. She was truly well loved by everyone who knew her!!
