Pamela Yvette Simpson, affectionally called “Pam” passed away peacefully on Friday April 4, 2024. She was born on October 4, 1966 in Fort Knox, Kentucky to Walter Simpson Jr. (deceased) and Gretchen L. Simpson.
She was educated in Norfolk City Schools graduating from Norview High School (she was a flag-girl), Keys Business College, and at Tidewater Community she also studied biology, hoping to become a biologist. Pam was a life-long sickle-cell anemia patient and she bore her illness well with many ups and downs; but with a strong will and ambitious nature.
For many years Pam worked a Kirn Memorial Library (now Slover), at a medical center, and many temporary jobs and due to health problems, she could no longer work full time.
Pam was a person of faith, she read her bible faithfully and although she could not attend church often, she had church in she heart!
She leaves to mourn: her mother, Gretchen Simpson, one daughter, Faranique Simpson, three brothers, Christopher, Gary (Sharon) and David (Shawntay) Simpson, nieces: Laketia Barrow, Eboni Simpson, Jasmin Simpson, nephews: Demetrious, Uriah, Elijah, and Ahmir Simpson and numerous cousins and friends.
Pam’s favorite bible verse is the 23rd Psalms: “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for thou art with me; thy rod and they staff they comfort me…..”
