Adelaide “Bunny” Burnetta Curtis rejoined her loved ones on Sunday, September 2, 2018. Born Adelaide Berry on May 9, 1950 in New York where she lived and went to school. Bunny, the wife of one man, was preceded in death by her husband, Fredrick “Freddy” G. Curtis who died February 2002. From that union, left to celebrate her life are her children, son and daughter, Marc and Adrienne Curtis. Bunny was also preceded in death by her brother Norbert Berry, her father Robert Berry and mother Helen Berry. Bunny leaves behind nieces Jesika and Stefani Berry, nephew Malachi Berry, and grandchildren Alexis Curtis, Suhmer Curtis, her favorite grandson Makai Miller, Khaliah Miller and Sierra Curtis. Bunny retired first from Banker’s Trust in New York in 1982. A short time after, Bunny and Freddy moved to Virginia Beach to start the second part of their lives together. From that time on, she worked at Social Services of Virginia Beach and retired again in 2017. Bunny was a great inspiration to all who knew her. There was always a smile on her face and a joke on her lips. She was a kind an gentle soul who loved spending time with her family. Her honorable and indomitable spirit always encouraged her family to persist in the face of many struggles. She enjoyed life and embraced activities such as reading and writing. Knowing Bunny, you quickly learned that she was an extremely witty woman with an immense vocabulary, she was very educated, logical, and independent. Her loving an generous spirit will live on eternally through those who knew and loved her over the years.
