Arlene Lillian Griffin

Arlene L. Griffin was born on October 31, 1938 and departed this lift on December 15, 2019.  She was a woman of God who loved the Lord.  She was a 1958 graduate of Booker T. Washington High School.  Past employments were Norfolk Community Hospital, J.C. Penny’s, Central Food Processing Facility (NPS) and Norfolk Naval Shipyard.  She was a former member of Goodwill Baptist Church for over 50 years.  She was a present member of Enoch Baptist Church.  She served as a Past Worthy Matron of Adah #20 Order of the Eastern Star.  She was a member of the Golden Pioneers, the Pastor’s Aide and the Senior Olympics Team. 

She was predeceased by her parents Floyd R. Martin Sr., Mary L. Martin and two sisters, Laura Grace Martin, Dorothy Rae Willis one sister-in-law Chong Cha Martin, 3 brothers Robert Martin, Floyd Martin Jr. and Nathaniel Martin and 1 grandson, John C. Martin Jr. (Quinton)

She leaves to cherish her memories four children:  Charles (Cheryl) McAllister Jr., Patricia (Kenneth) Gainey, Sarah (Dennis) Taylor, and John McAllister (Althea Bridges), a loving daughter-in-law Pastor Anita McAllister and Joe W. Griffin.  A sister Edna Reid, three brothers Clyde Martin, Rodney Martin and Lawrence Bernard Martin.  The family will greet family and friends at 946 Avenue F, Norfolk, VA 23513.
