Arthur Handy

Arthur P. Handy, affectionately known as  “Freddy”, son of the late Clarence and Dixie Handy Mason, was born September 2nd, 1951 in Bloxom, Virginia. He departed this life on May 22nd  2018 at 12:30pm at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia.  

Arthur attended the public schools of Accomack County, Virginia and enjoyed many lifelong friendships. He was a very hard working man that worked on a farm, construction,  and driving trucks.You could find Arthur spending time with his family and friends. He really enjoying playing cards, laughing and joking. 

Arthur’s children and grandchildren meant the world to him. There was nothing he would not do for them. It was not unusual for him to give his last to anyone who needed it. He  was comfortable around a house full of people or by myself with a cup of coffee. 

He leaves to cherish loving memories: three children, Arthur Linen of Philadelphia, PA, Michael Price (Natalia) of Raleigh, NC, Kenya Dennis of Parksley, VA; five grandchildren J’ Kwon Dennis of Parksley, VA, Jayden Dennis of Parksley, VA, Mason Price of Raleigh, NC, Madison Price of Raleigh, NC, Sha’Born Pepper of Bloxom, VA; three sisters, Ineta McLaughlin, Dixie Handy, and   Alice Townsend (Mitchell); five brothers, Willie James Mason (Vernatta), Rudolph Handy ( Jackie), Roger Mason, Tommy Mason (Avon), and Tony Mason (Beatrice); A few special people were Addie B. Handy, Maryshell Pepper, Larry Handy. LaKesha Ivey, Henry Handy, and Marshall Handy; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, stepchildren, and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Chester Handy, William Mason, and Lee Roy Handy.
