Arthur Leon Whitfield, Sr., 86, passed away on Wednesday, December 6th.  Mr. Whitfield retired from the City of Norfolk Solid Waste Department in 1988. Mr. Whitfield is preceded in death by his beloved wife Pearline Moore Whitfield, mother Lydia Ann Watford, daughter Vernice, brother William Bly, and sister Martha Jane Stewart. He has one surviving sister, Rosa Hamlin.  He has 3 living children, Arthur Jr. (spouse Maureen), Brenda and Candy and 5 grand children: Sandra, Jerome (spouse Michelle), Timothy, Lydia, and Ebony, and 6 great grand children, Mikeal, Joseph, Elijah, Seth, Samuel, and Parker.
