Audrey C. Sweatt our beloved Wife, Mother, Mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend gently slipped away from us on Friday, February 16th, 2018 at Autumn Care Nursing and Rehab. Audrey was married to Floyd E. Sweatt for 68 years. She was born on September 6th, 1929 to the late James A. Barnes and Ola B. Barnes in Norfolk, Virginia.
Her formal education was received in the Norfolk Public School System. Audrey loved and served the Lord and was a faithful member of Oakwood Chapel Church Disciples of Christ for 65 years. She was a devoted Deaconess, she participated in the Choir, Women’s ministry, and Sunday School.
She retired 30 yrs. from the DePaul Hospital as a Nurses’ assistant. Deaconess Audrey never met a stranger, she loved to give advice, laugh and joke.
Deaconess Audrey was preceded in death by Floyd E. Sweatt Sr, (Husband), Reginald W. Sweatt (Son), and James A and Ola B. Barnes (Parents.) She leaves to cherish the memories a rich and rewarding life to the following loving survivors: 2 daughters Deaconess AudreyNell Prunty (Dea. Keith) Norfolk Va. Acquanetta Deaton (Gervan) Savannah, Ga. 2 sons Deacon Floyd Sweatt Sr. (Pauline) Augusta Ga. Dwight Sweatt Sr. Richmond Va. Nine grandchildren, Fifteen great grandchildren, a Great Great-Grandchild . A host of nieces, nephews, great nieces & great nephews and other relatives and friends
