Barbara Ann Ryals Flick Thompson passed away on May 26, 2018. Mom finally got her “peace and quiet”. Mom was truly a gift. She was a self-employed mom who always made it work (Mac and Cheese was our favorite). She was a very strong woman, whose love and passion was animals. No matter the animal or the situation, she loved them all. Canine Corner Pet Grooming was her life, and she did it for well over 40 years! She was a 1963 graduate of Wilson High School, after which she enlisted in the Air Force, then gave birth to twin daughters, Sandy and Linda. Twelve years later, she gave us a little brother, Chris.
We are sure that our mom would like to thank everyone who was a friend to her and those who helped us take care of her; so on behalf of her, "Thanks y’all!"
We will miss Mom and her advice (even when we didn’t ask for it!). We know she is breathing easier now, and has probable started a dance club!
We love and miss you Mom,
Sandy and Linda Flick, Chris Thompson, and Granddaughter, Melanie.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday June 11 at 12:00pm at Albert G. Horton Veteran’s Cemetery in Suffolk. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Chesapeake Humane Society.
