Betty Long Obituary

Betty Deloris Long, transition to her heaven home on Tuesday, January 22, 2019. Her life began on April 25, 1945 in Warren County, N. C. (Six Pound).  

Betty moved from North Caroline with her family to Williamsburg, Va.  in 1961, as a teenager, Betty’s family moved to Virginia Beach, Va.  She received her GED, Office Administrator Certificate and a Real Estate license.  She retired at age 62.   

Betty devoted her life to God as a child and continued by joining First Lynnhaven Baptist Church.  She served on the No. 2 Usher board and her passion was the serving on the Prison Ministry, the Angel Tree Ministry and a member of Senior Under Grace (SUG) ministry,

She was preceded in death by her mate of 55 years, Robert Cobbs; sister, Lula Long; and grandson, Nakia Jordan. Betty leave behind her brother, Melvin Long (Sherrie), South Carolina; two sisters, Sandra Gray (Walter), Cathy Downey (Floyd).  She will be missed by her daughter, Valerie Jordan (Alvin), her two grandchildren, Gabrielle Buford (Josuh), North Carolina and Danielle Jordan; two great grandchildren, Marquan Alves of Boston, Deondre Huston of Florida and her nieces and nephews.
