Obituary
A loud boastful voice and a beautiful smile was suddenly silenced. On Thursday, June 14, 2018, Cheryl answered her call and slipped peacefully into eternity.
Cheryl Elizabeth Anderson, “Big Sue” was born June 29, 1951, in Norfolk, Virginia to the late Robert Lee Anderson and Odessa Manson Anderson. She was preceded in death by her siblings; Barbara Anderson, Jeniffer Anderson-Chrisp, Robert Anderson and Michael Anderson.
Cheryl attended Norfolk Public Schools and graduated from Granby High School in Norfolk, Virginia. Cheryl had a great love for music and this passion led her to relocate to Southern California to pursue her dreams. Her favorite musical genius was Stevie Wonder.
Cheryl also developed a love for computers and she became a computer technician at Cal-Omega in California, where she worked for many years.
As fate would have it, there is no place like home. Cheryl returned to her roots in Norfolk, Virginia in 1989. It was then she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized. Cheryl loved her family deeply and she manifested this love by becoming a child care provider. She cared for nieces, nephews, grands and family friends. One of her greatest joys was her grandson Khalil. Cheryl did her part in teaching and raising all the children. She was their favorite “Aunt Cheryl”
To cherish her memory, she leaves her beloved son; Steven L. Anderson, 1 grandson; Khalil Allen, 4 brothers; Kevin Anderson (Ellen), Keith Anderson (Natalie), Darryl Anderson, and Wilford Anderson. 4 sisters; Dortha Anderson, Geral Collins (Tony), Manya Brown (Charles) and Myra Patterson (Joseph). She also leaves to cherish her memory Albert Chrisp (Tywanna), Valerie Anderson, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends.
