Eva Rice

On Saturday, October 13, 2018, the Lord called our sweet beloved mother Eva Magnolia Rice home after a short but courageous battle with lung cancer. She was surrounded by her family and loved ones. Eva was born in Hopewell, Virginia on September 18, 1950, to the late Ernest L. Jones and Hylon L. “Weenie” Love. She attended Hopewell public school system.  She married George A. Rice, III on December 13, 1969.  She worked as a Plant Operator for Hercules Inc. for approximately 10 years.  She later worked for Old Country Buffet restaurant and Fresh Pride Supermarket before retiring in 2015.  She was a member of Olive Grove Baptist Church.

She is predeceased by her father Ernest L. Jones, mother Hylon L. Love, husband George A. Rice, III and brother Randolph Jones.

Left to cherish her lovely memories are her children: Albert L. Jones, Patrick O. Jones (Diane), Emerald L Rice Brown (Marlon) and James R. G. Rice (Nestia); siblings: Florine Wheeler, Ernest L. Jones, Lawrence Jones, Thomas Jones, Lisa Jones, and Alphonso Jones (Kim); Grandchildren: Kabria Rice, Kevin Jones, Emerald Jones, Katie Jones, Albert Jones, Jr, Ashley Brown, LaDainian Rice, Jordyn Rice, and Orlando Rice; great-grandchildren: Kayden Rice and Kevin Jones, Jr.; a special “sister” friend Gina Landfloyd (Wayne) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
