Francess L. Arrington was an exceptional woman with unique qualities like that of a precious jewel. She loved all people from all walks of life. She was a loving,generous and compassionate woman, friend and mother. Francess was born to Goldie and Rayfield Smith on July 17, 1941, the 6th of 9 children.
She was a loving and devoted mother to two children: Eric A. Ellis and Former Daughter-in-Law Yvette Ellis and Zola Doss and Son-in-Law Gary Doss. She is survived by the following beloved siblings: Elder Dora Lindsay and Pastor Shirley Williams. She was predeceased by the following beloved siblings: Charles Smith, Rayfield Smith, Andrew Smith, Clara Smith, Joyce Smith and Ernest Smith. She was surrounded with love by her 10 grandchildren: Aricka D. Ellis, Alycia A. Ellis, Michael A. Doss, Josiah I. Doss, Christopher I. Doss, David M. Doss, Nigel G.A. Doss, Daniel J. Doss and a whole host of nieces, nephews, friends and family.
Francess served as a member at Saint Stephen’s United Pentecostal Church of America for over 35 years and was ordained as a Minister. She was a volunteer CBN counselor for over 35 years and she worked as a dietician supervisor for Beth Sholom Sands for several years before retiring. Francess was very active in the community and one of her favorite things to do was to volunteer at the school library for Grandparents Storytime. She has enriched many lives and will continue to be a legacy for years to come.
