Frankie Jackson Obituary


Frankie AnnieMae Frost Jackson departed this life July 09, 2019 into eternity with the Lord Jesus Christ. Frankie was the only child of the late Frank & Naomi Frost of Tampa, Fla.

She was born October 26, 1924 in Tampa, Fla., where she grew up & attended Catholic school until graduation and without thought entered into the school of nursing at Brewster Hospital in Jacksonville, Fla. During her time of study at Brewster she met a handsome Army AirCorp Staff Sgt. Named James T. Jackson of Norfolk, Va. After dating for awhile they married on June 23, 1947. After completing school and receiving her RN pin she moved to Virginia to began her nursing career at Norfolk General Hospital starting October of 1949 and in 1960 she took a brief separation from Norfolk General to care for her ailing father in Tampa. After his passing and making sure her mother was being taken care of she went back to Virginia and began  work again at Norfolk General during this period she & James finally settled down with their first child Frank and later their second bundle of joy Naomi. Through the years many people became her son & daughter & grandchildren to her you were either family or friend.

In 1981 after being married for 34 years James went ahead to prepare the way , in 1983 she defeated breast cancer & in 1985 she hung her last I.V. retiring as a dedicated charge nurse.

She leaves to cherish her memories her son Frank Jackson (Rose) of New Bern, N.C. and her devoted daughter Naomi Jackson of Norfolk, VA, a grandson Berte Gulledge (Anglea) of Greenville, N,C. A special son Carlton Sample (Diane) of Chesapeake, VA and two special daughters  Crystal Terry of Norfolk, VA and Cardova Conway-Taylor (William) of Norfolk, VA and a host of nieces & nephews & friends.

A private service will be held on Friday 12th of July for her children and a Memorial Service will be held  on the 20th of July at 2:00 pm for the rest of the family and friends at Keith Matthews Funeral Home located at 5665 E. Va. Beach Blvd Norfolk, Va. 23502 next to Vail Automotive sales. There will be a repass at the Salvation Army Kroc of Hampton Roads located at 1401 Ballentine Blvd., Norfolk, Va. 23504
