Gerald Dew, Sr.

Gerald Jerome Dew Sr. 66 years old, Gerald affectionately known as “Jerry Dew,” passed away after battling an illness on December 19, 2018.

He was a native of Norfolk, Virginia. He was the son of the late John L. Dew Sr. and Mable Parson Dew. He graduated from Norfolk State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration in 1980.  He was predeceased by his Sister, Karen D. Dew, Grandmother Olivia Davis, Uncles, Leroy Parson, James Parson, Aunts, Wilhemina Terry, Julia Dew, Maggie Dew Walston, Beatrice James.

Gerald proudly served his country in the United States Army. He retired from U. S. Government DOD, SPAWAR Systems Engineering Command (formally NARDAC) in 2012 as a Network Branch Head Supervisor IT Specialist. He was greatly respected and Loved by his Co Workers, including a group of students under his supervision, he called (his Special Kids).

He leaves to cherish his memory his Wife of 35 Years, Renee Billups Dew, two Sons, Gerald J. Dew Jr.(Tracy), Jason G. Dew and Daughter, Giovanni A. Dew.  Extended Children, Penny Wright (John), Carolyn Haywood (Kevin), Ronald Combs (Beverly), Johnny Woodbury (Shannon), Melvin Payton and Brian Williams. He will be sorely missed by his two Brothers, Lionel M. Dew (Barbara), John L. Dew Jr. and a Sister, Deborah D. Davis (Jerome). Host of Uncles, Aunts, Cousins, Nieces, Nephews, Brothers-in law, Sisters in Law, Grand Children and Great Grandchildren. Special friend since childhood, Reginald Clark and Special friend from Army, Kenneth Weedon.
