Madline McKenzie

Madline McKenzie, of Norfolk, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at the age of 82.

Madline was born to parents Gustavus and Ireta McKenzie on March 16, 1935 in Clarendon, Jamaica. She grew up as the second of six children.

She immigrated to the United States in 1970 to pursue her entrepreneurial dreams.  Her children subsequently joined her in the United States.  Madline led a hard working but simple life. 

In 1990, her heart for Jamaica called her to re-establish a residence in Kingston, Jamaica initially, and then to Kitson Town in the country.

She had a heart for helping the disadvantaged in her community, especially her community in Kitson Town, Jamaica.

Madline is survived by her daughters, Victoria, Joycynthia, and Michelle; her sons, Dallas, and Robert; her sisters, Philipa, Estella, Ceciline, and Dorothy; her brother, Julius; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by Desmond, Jacob, her brother Adolphus, and son, Timothy.

A celebration of life service will be held for Madline at Keith Matthews Funeral Home in Norfolk Virginia at 11 am. On Saturday, January 27, 2018.
