Maggie Giddens Obituary

Maggie Moore Giddins, the daughter of Horace and Arnette Moore, quietly departed this life Friday December 27, 2019 at Heritage Hall Rehabilitation Center located in Nassawadox, VA.

Ms. Maggie was born in Accomac, VA on February 27, 1922 located on Virginia’s Eastern Shore. She was educated as well in Accomac, VA.

She was employed at Edward’s Seafood in Onley, Va., as a cook at Exmore Diner, and also at Holly Farm Poultry Plant for twenty years.

Ms. Maggie confessed her life to Christ at twelve years of age and joined New Mount Zion Baptist Church. During her eighty-five years as a member she served as a trustee. She faithfully attended church every Sunday until her health deteriorated and she was admitted to the nursing home.

Ms. Maggie was preceded in death by her husband, Otha Giddins, and siblings, Helen, Grace, and Hattie.

Surviving to cherish her memories are three sons, Horace Moore Custis (Daisy) of Bronx, NY, Henry Thomas Giddins (Beverly) of Virginia Beach, VA, and James Conway Giddens (Ethel) of Belle Haven, VA; granddaughters, Tyra Bailey(Jarrett) of Fredericksburg, VA, Tamesha Giddens of Suffolk, VA, Laneen Sample(Isaac), and Arnita of Atlanta, GA; two grandsons, Henry T. Giddins (Tiffany) of South Orange, NJ and Jawane; three great-granddaughters; Debbie of New Jersey, Imani of Atlanta, GA, and Raquel; nine great-grandsons, Jaylon, Justin, and Jordan of Fredericksburg, VA, Henry III of New Jersey, Jalen, Kyran of Atlanta, GA, Isaac Jr., Kodee, and Korri, among surviving friends is Mrs. Gladys Grimes, a lifelong friend of Hampton, VA, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
