Mrs. Mamie Lee Dawkins Lyons, Daughter of the late Idell and Emory Price, Born February 18, 1934 in Philadelphia, Mississippi, entered peacefully into eternal rest on Monday, July 30, 2018.
Mrs. Mamie was educated in Neshoba County Public Schools in Mississippi. At an early age in the early 50’s she accepted Christ and joined Shorter’s Chapel A.M.E Church in Bridgetown, Virginia.
In 1951 she married the late Mr. Norman Wilson Lyons. They had 3 sons and a step daughter. She was employed by Northampton- Accomack Memorial Hospital where she retired after over 25 years of service.
She was a loving and devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Aunt, and Friend. Mrs. Mamie was a remarkable woman who had many friends, and was always willing to help others. To know her was to love her.
Mrs. Mamie leaves to cherish 3 loving sons and a loving step daughter, Norman Lyons Jr (Debra) Chesapeake, VA., Sterling Lyons (Aretha) Norfolk, VA., Steve Lyons Exmore, VA., Mary Anna Starke (James) Petersburg, VA., 13 Grand Children Norman Lyons III, Sheanara Lyons, Sterling Lyons II, Allyson Lyons, Sean Lyons, Erimesha Horton, Tretha Mills, Takecia Lyons, Tiyond Lyons, Steve Lyons Jr., Levintab Wynder, Kevin Starke and 13 Great Grand Children, a very special friend Margaret George a multitude of cousins, other relatives and friends.
