William Alexander Smith, beloved son of the late Ethel Mae Badger and the late John William Smith, was born January 12, 1955 in Painter, VA.
William was admitted to Central State Hospital in Petersburg, VA on September 29, 1960 and was later transferred to South Side Training Hospital on July 1, 1971. After a period of time he was transferred to AC Support System on January 8, 2014 in Petersburg, VA where he lived until his departure on April 6, 2019 at the age of 64.
“William was a man of few words. However, his actions shouted out the loudest decibel. He was never afraid to show you what he wanted out of life. He was a true fighter that would never back down until he was content. His smile brought you instant laughter and his chuckles brought you instant happiness. He can finally rest easy as he resides in our hearts. Rest in paradise, Will." HE WILL BE MISSED BY HIS FAMILY.
He was preceded in death by his sisters; Etta Mitchell and Gladys Addison, his brothers; John Louis Smith and George H. smith; one nephew, Curtis Lee Ames; one niece; Linda Dolores Butler (James); and his brothers-in-law; Ted Rogers, Mario Chandler, and Forrest Davis Sr.
Left to cherish his loving memories are sisters; Rebecca Mary Davis, Alice Rogers, and Patricia Ann Chandler; one brother, Roland Smith (Loretta), as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends
