Allen Stauffer

Allen R. Stauffer graduated to heaven on Friday, September 6, 2019 in Virginia Beach; just 5 days shy of his 79th birthday. He was born in Chester County, PA on September 11, 1940 and grew up on a farm in Manheim, PA. He retired this year as a bus driver for Norfolk Public Schools and was a member of Beach Fellowship Church.

Allen was predeceased by his beloved parents Melvin Stauffer and Anna Mary Eberly Stauffer Bredthauer, stepfather William Bredthauer, brother Melvin Stauffer. Left to cherish his memory are his lovely wife Fay Stauffer, daughters Stacy Pauley, Robin Connor, Alexis Gerdes, sons Darren Stauffer, Carl Stauffer, Garrett Bridges, siblings Jay Stauffer, Mary Ella Witmer, Hettie Jean Eckert, Martha Garner, Nancy Petka, Carol Kurl, 13 grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

He was an entrepreneur, philanthropist and devout Christian. He served formerly as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, Youth Group Leader and Lions Club Member. Among his various business ventures, Allen owned and operated a Sewing Factory in Suffolk, VA, owned Ultra Color Mobile Exterior Restoration, and was previously Manager and Top Sales Associate at Hall Honda.

Allen was admired by many for his keen fashion sense, remarkable tan and clever wit! He adored classic hits from the 40s and old hotrods. He enjoyed traveling, telling outrageous (and sometimes funny) jokes and family holidays. Most importantly, Allen cherished every moment with those he loved. He was an exceptional husband, father, step-dad and grandpa!!

His sense of humor was legendary. His FAITH and LOVE of Christ was EXTRAORDINARY. We can only imagine his homecoming: “His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world’” (Matthew 25:21,34).

Please join us as we celebrate his life! Memorial service to take place on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at Beach Fellowship, 1817 General Booth Blvd, Virginia Beach, VA, at 11:00 AM with Pastor Ray Bjorkman officiating. Floral tributes may be sent.
