Mrs. Andres Harris, who left us peacefully on April 19, 2024. at 90. A matriarch in her own right, Andres was a steadfast source of wisdom, love and strength for her family and friends. Her legacy is one of unwavering support and honesty, that will be cherished in memory by all who had the privilege to know her.
Miss Andres enjoyed playing cards and domino games. She would often sit at the table and watch her soap operas; she had a passion for gardening and cooking Southern dishes. Her biscuits were the best. She had excellent business skills. Miss Ann gave all of her children the blueprint for success.
Mrs. Harris, a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, is survived by her five children; Mary Battle, Gail Cross, Robin Battle, Gwendolyn Battle and Antonio Battle (Yvette). Andres also leaves her 11 grandchildren; Lytanja (Vince) Hammond, Inez (Vick) Robins, Tamara (Vernon) Matthews, Antwan (Tanya) Cross, Ronette Terry, Fred (Tameka) Cross, Ronniel Battle, Renee Battle, Tatayuana Battle, Brandon Whitmore, and Darnae Scott, 19 great grandchildren and 10 great- great grandchildren. She also leaves behind a brother, Albert Buie, and a sister Ann Buie. She joins her beloved husband Richard Harris in eternal rest along with her parents Exum Bellamy and Florence Buie and her siblings Coleman Buie, Vernon Buie, Annie C. Buie, and Dorothy Battle. Miss Ann is cherished by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins including her extended family in North Carolina.
The loss of Mrs. Andres Harris leaves a void that cannot be filled, but her spirit will forever resonate in the lives she touched. May she rest in eternal peace.
