Andrew Wilson, Jr. Obituary

Andrew Lee Wilson, Jr.

September 22, 1950 – July 1, 2019

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing. 2 Timothy 4:7-8 (NIV)

On the evening of July 1, 2019, the precious hand of the Almighty God moved Andrew Lee Wilson, Jr. from this life and quietly ushered him into eternal rest. He was sixty-eight years old.

Andrew Lee was the eldest child born to Andrew Lee Wilson, Sr. and the late Missy Elizabeth Wilson on September 22, 1950 in Princess Anne County, Virginia.

Growing up and residing in the “Chinese Corner” community most of his life, Andrew Lee was always known as a very kind, giving and gentle person.  Andrew Lee was known amongst family and friends as the peacemaker. He wanted everyone to live in peace and harmony.

Andrew Lee attended Union Kempsville School until making the decision to serve his country, by enlisting into the United States Marine Corps. Although his time served was minimal, his heart to serve all of mankind and his commitment to our country was unfailing. After transitioning from his military service, he became employed by the Virginia Beach Public School System and later retired after sixteen years of employment.

Andrew Lee’s dedication to serve his fellow man was not limited to his military service, but was evident in his commitment to serve others within his local community. Whether it was assisting his family and friends during their times of need or serving with the members of his local church, he was passionate about making the lives of others better. It was evident from his infectious positive attitude, which made everyone around him feel better, and his zeal to put his hands to work for the betterment of those along his path. Family and Friends meant the world to Andrew Lee.

We are assured that Andrew Lee has eternal joy and fellowship with God. His loving memory is a keepsake from which we will never depart. Though God has him in safe-keeping, he will always remain in our hearts.

Miss Me, But Let Me Go

When I come to the end of the road, and the sun has set for me, I want no rites n gloom-filled rooms. Why cry for a soul set free? Miss me a little, but not too long, and not with your head bowed low; Remember the love that we once shared. Miss me, but let me go.  For this is a journey that we all must take, and each must go alone. It’s all a part of the Master’s plan. A step on the road to home. When you are lonely and sick at heart, go to the friends we know, and busy your sorrows in doing good deeds. Miss me but let me go.
