Annette S. Williams, received her Angel wings on Monday December 1, 2025.
Annette was the oldest daughter of the late John and Thelma Smitherwrick. Annette’ husband Major Williams Jr., brothers Robert Smithwrick, and John Smithwrick preceded her in death.
Annette was born at home on September 25, 1940. She attended Oakwood Elementary School and was a graduate of B.T. Washington High School in 1960.
Annette accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord & Savior at Queen Street Baptist Church, Norfolk, Va.
She was baptized in her early youth by the late Reverend Freeman.
Annette retired from Norfolk State University after 25 years of service.
Annette was a devoted military wife that traveled the world. Annette enjoyed singing, dancing, doing crafts. Most of all she loved playing bingo. Last but not least she was a diehard REDSKIN fan.
Annette is survived by her daughter Deborah A. Sherfield of Norfolk, Va., and her two sons
Major Williams III(Tammy) of Chesapeake, Va., Jonathan Williams (Kim)of Fredericksburg, Va. She
is also survived by her sister Gwendolyn Swain of Chesapeake, Va.
Annette is also survived by her grandchildren’s James III and Brandon Sherfield, Aaron and Tia Williams, Madison and Morgan Williams, Ashley Flynn, and Nequel Diggs-Hedgebeth. Annette leaves a host of relatives, friends to cherish her memories. A special friend of the family is Tamyko who loved her dearly.
