Anthony Boyd

On Thursday, December 5, 2024 early in the morning, our beloved father, grandfather, brother and twin, uncle, nephew, and friend closed his weary eyes to sleep in the arms of our Saviour Jesus Christ. Anthony Jerome Boyd was born July 24, 1960 to the late Willie C. Harrell, Sr and Bertha Lee Boyd. Anthony attended school in the city of Chesapeake where he played basketball and ran cross country track at Indian River High School. He was nicknamed Willie Wise. He graduated high school and joined The United Stated Army Reserves where he received an honorable discharge. Anthony worked over 30 years at Southern Atlantic Label Company in Chesapeake, VA where he excelled as a Lithographic Press Operator.  He also worked at Mason Incorporated Company as a Pressman Press Operator.  Additionally, he worked as a Security Officer at the Norfolk International Airport and at Greenbrier Mall in Chesapeake, VA.

Anthony leaves to cherish his memories, loving and devoted children Shuron Poteat of Chesapeake, VA; Aaren Poteat Dance and Bertha Poteat both of Portsmouth, VA; Anthony Sawyer and Anthony Poteat both of Chesapeake, VA; Uniqua Boyd, Isaiah and Angel Coleman all of Chesapeake, VA. Two brothers, Larry Boyd of Chesapeake, VA and Lester Boyd of Las Vegas, Nevada. Four sisters, Dorenda Starkes, Iris Smith (Tyrone), Alberta Johnson (Bobby) all of Chesapeake, VA and Angela Hilbert of Suffolk, VA. One Aunt Beulah Haskins (Joseph), eleven grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Special thanks for friends Sharon Freeman, Lisa Spellman, and Edward Perry their genuine love and affection, consideration, devotion, support and kindness.
