Bessie Blair Obituary

Reflections of Life

Bessie Mae Stanley Blair went home to be with her Jesus on Wednesday, October 13, 2021.  Bessie was born September 22, 1936. She was the daughter of William and Bessie Vaughan. She was affectionately called ‘Shug’ as a child.

Bessie was married to Eugene Blair for a number of years, and from this union six children were born; four daughters and two sons. She enjoyed being a home-maker; was a proficient seamstress, as well as well-versed in other needlepoint crafts. Bessie had a green thumb and house plants were part of her home décor. She worked as a federal employee for some years before retiring. Some of Bessie’s favorite snacks were peanuts, candy-corn, Friendly’s chocolate ice-cream, and jelly-beans. Bessie used her voice to glorify the Lord. A few of her favorite spirituals were, Amazing Grace, Precious Lord, and He Touched Me. She enjoyed hearing and reading God’s word.

Bessie was pre-deceased by her former husband, Eugene Blair, a daughter, Eula R. Blair, and a son, Eugene K. Blair.

Bessie leaves to cherish her memory three daughters, Janice Blair, Monica Golden, Crystal Golden, and a son, William Blair, and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and grandsons and daughter-in-law.   Bessie had a sweet spirit and was loved by all who came in contact with her. She leaves behind family and friends who will cherish the memories, laughter and tears shared throughout the years.
