Carl Jordan Obituary

On Saturday, August 22, 2020, Mr. Carl Hosea Jordan, received his angel’s wings, and took flight from Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. He was born February 6, 1955 in Norfolk Virginia to the late Joseph Jordan and Ida  Jordan Diggs.

He graduated from Lake Taylor High School.  Shortly, thereafter, he became a long distance truck driver where he traveled alongside his eldest brother, Joseph Jordan. His work required him to travel many places. He traveled the entire United States. He also drove to Mexico, Alaska and Canada. Carl was a man who lived life to the fullest.  His charismatic spirit and tenacity to live inspired many. Carl also was a notorious movie lover.

Carl loved the Lord and his family.  His final words to his family was that he loved them.   He praised the Lord until he took his last breath.  Even when Carl had to be hospitalized, he pressed his way to the Church.  Many Sundays, he was carried into the Church in his wheelchair or he would make his way using his walker just to give God praise.  At family gatherings, he could always be depended on to order large pans of Pancit and egg rolls to share with his loved ones.  He loved fellowshipping, sharing and laughing with his family and friends and he will be sorely missed.

Carl was predeceased by his father, Joseph Jordan, his mother, Ida  Jordan Diggs, brother, Ronnie Jordan, Sisters, Deborah Jordan and Vickie Jordan Roulhac, nephew, Adrian Jordan, Jonathan Jordan, great niece, Jordan Burston, great nephew, Dalo’ Pearson, and sister-in-law, Sara Jordan. Carl leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Yvonne Brown Jordan; four daughters Takisha LaShawn, Cahee, Carla and Monique; two sons, Michael and Christopher; three brothers, Joseph Savage Jordan, Barry Jordan (Gloria), and Micah Jordan (Gina); three sisters, Bathsheba Johnson (George), Brenda Jordan, Laverne Wilson, and Teressa  Burnham (Anthony); three brothers, numerous grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
