Chester Budd

Chester Nathaniel ‘Chick’ Budd, 72, of Norfolk, VA transitioned peacefully into eternal life on March 18, 2021. He graduated from Booker T. Washington High School.

Chester loved the Lord and pastored several churches throughout his life and found fulfillment in giving to others, lifting the spirits of so many. He enhanced the quality of life for those around him. He was kind, compassionate, personable, engaging, caring, and humorous. He had a gift and shared his decades of wisdom and various experiences with many. He extended his loving heart to all. Chick had a magnetic personality and a fun-loving way of life.

Chester was preceded in death by his parents, George Budd Sr. and Elizabeth Bestie Budd; his sisters, Arvetta B. Phillips, Wilhelmenia B. Rivers, and Laura Fallis; and his brothers, Robert E. Hyman, George Budd Jr., and Melvin R. Budd.

He is survived by sisters, Alma B. Young and Rose Marie Budd; a sister-in-law, Mildred Budd; nephews, George Budd III and Kenneth Marc Budd; nieces, Mimi Wideman, Maria Budd, Marielle Budd, and Arvetta Budd; as well as a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.
