CYNTHIA ANN PEETE was born on September 18, 1959, in Franklin, VA to the late Leslie Gause and late Annie Lee Yancey. They moved to Norfolk, VA to be around family around 1964-65. She was educated in the Norfolk Public School system and graduated from Granby High School. She was employed by General Form and went on to further her education in photography and modeling. She departed from us on Saturday, May 6, 2023.
CYNTHIA loved modeling, singing and skating growing up. She loved making friends and meeting new people, laughing and having a great time. She loved her mother aka “MAMA.” She enjoyed baking cookies for her daughter, nieces and nephews. She had to have cake and ice cream even if it wasn’t her birthday. Cynthia was a member of Mt. Zion Pentecostal Holiness in Norfolk VA since 2016. Throughout her years of attendance, she showed love and concern for those whom she had fellowship and spent time with. She loved her pastor and her church family.
She was preceded in death by her father Leslie Gause, Mother Annie Lee Yancey, brother Joe Gause, sister Jacqueline Griffin and niece Shannon Pete.
CYNTHIA is survived by her daughter: Cynthia Gordon (DeAndre) of Florida, grandchildren (Qunajah (Darrel), Keyshaun, Nyajah, Deandre Jr.); brothers Samuel E. Yancey, Norman Gause, Herbert Gause, sister Clementine Tillary; devoted friend: Robert Bowles; special Nieces and Nephews: Sedohra Pete of Alabama, William Pete and Julian Pete and a host of relatives, extended family, and friends.
