Daisy Smith

Deaconess Daisy James Smith of Norfolk

Departed this life November 21, 2021, at her residence. She was 97 years old. She was a member of First Baptist Church Bute Street and participated in several ministries until her failing health. She retired from the Norfolk Public Health Department where she worked as nurse in the Department of Epidemiology. She was predeceased by her husband, Deacon James L. Smith Sr.

She is survived by her son, James L Smith Jr. (Cynthia), daughter, Janice S. Roane (Andrew) of Richmond, stepdaughter Eunice Vaughn of Colorado, several grandchildren, one devoted, Lakisha L. Smith, who served as her caregiver, great-grandchildren, one devoted, Shavon J. Smith, who also served as a caregiver and a host of other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First Baptist Church Bute Street.
