Deborah A. Matthews passed away peacefully on Monday February 17, 2025, at Shore Health & Rehab Center of Parksley, VA. Deborah, commonly known asDeb or Rab, was born in Philadelphia, PA and was educated in both the Philadelphia Public School system and later Accomack County Public School system. She was known for her love of thrifting, yard sales, knick knacks and her creative style of decorating. Deborah had a smile as bright as the sun would shine and even through her sickness, she never wavered in her fight, and she never stopped smiling.
Deborah had a kind and gentle soul, even a comedic sense of humor at times that would make you laugh for minutes and minutes at a time. She was a devoted wife to her beloved husband and mother to her children. She is survived by her loving husband Noah Matthews of almost thirty-four years. Three children Bryan M. Corbin (Shekienna Corbin), Morena N. Foreman (Rahim Foreman, William D. Corbin (Bridget Corbin), a stepdaughter
Brittany Northam. Fifteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, her mother Delores C. Bailey, three siblings; Linda Corbin, Lawrence Bailey and Trina Widgeon (Percell Widgeon). Seven brothers-in-laws, four sisters-in-laws, and a host of other loved ones, family members and friends.
As we bid farewell to Deborah, we take comfort in knowing that her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched. Her love, kindness, and compassion will continue to inspire us all. Deborah’s earthly journey may have come to an end, but she is at peace now surrounded by the love of her heavenly father. The family would like to express our thanks and appreciation for all the thoughts and prayers.
