Deborah Anne Williams, 69, of Norfolk, Virginia, was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 10, 2023.
Deborah was born in Princess Anne County. She was predeceased by her parents, Pastor Naomi Smith, Elder L. C. Smith, and her son, Chase Burke.
She leaves to cherish her husband, Jerry Williams, two sons, Brandon Burke and Calvin Barksdale, daughter, Jayveus Burke (Terrence), and three grandchildren. Jayvon was her special grandchild that loved his grandma. Her siblings are Reverend Chris Smith (Denise), Kim Wint (Robert), Sherry Ransom, Leavon Raymore (Anthony), and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Deborah attended Norfolk Public Schools, where she was a commodore of Maury High School during the 70s. Deborah worked at the Chesapeake Hospital for 20 years as a unit secretary and followed other jobs in the Virginia area.
Deborah would light up when the family decided to go fishing and crabbing during the weekends. She loved feeding the birds at Mount Trashmore, growing her garden (especially tomatoes), and making flavorful sun tea. She loved attending church and helping by assisting in the Sunday School and children’s Sunday lessons.
Her favorite color was purple (the actual color, not the movie), and she loved anything about Babyface and crabs! She loved Seasoned and steamed crabs! She enjoyed watching old cowboy movies with her dad, such as Rifleman and Bonanza. They were the best of friends watching those movies. Sundays, she would watch Joel Osteen for services due to health issues.
She loved the Lord and her children, especially her grandson—she always talked about her grandson, which gave her so much joy. Her favorite quotes: are "Afterwhile crocodile" and "Tuff t…….Said the kitty". Deborah's faith in God made her a fighter until the Lord called her home.
