Decala T. Brooks

Decala Teresa Brooks (TT) was born July 14, 1969 at Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA to Ella Mae Moore and Willie Brooks.  She departed this life on December 24, 2022, after an extended illness.  Decala graduated from Manor High School in Portsmouth, Virginia.  She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior.

Decala earned her certificate from Tidewater Community College to serve as a certified nursing assistant.  During this time, she developed a passion for supporting people.  Decala transitioned into retail with the same passion of assisting people.  This common focus plus her distinct style allowed her to be recognized as a leader.  Decala served in multiple managerial positions to include AJ Wright, Wal-Mart as well as Roses. 

Decala enjoyed collecting movies, especially scary movies.  Anytime she could grab a bowl of popcorn or a couple of Oreos along with her Betty Boop blanket, it resulted in great relaxation and fun.  She also enjoyed dancing.  Her dancing was so infectious that it inspired her grandchildren to join in with great delight.  As the only female sibling, Decala obviously developed an unflinching spirit which allowed her to be bold as she empowered others in her family and workplace. 

Decala loved to spend time with her family and close friends.  She leaves to cherish her memory:  two children, Brittney Brooks and Brandon Brooks, three grandchildren Daquan, Deloni and Antonio, three brothers Arthur (Michelle) Moore, Antonio Moore, Timothy (Aisha) Brooks and a host of other deeply loved relatives and friends.
