Dorothy Jean Knight

Dorothy Jean Knight quietly and peacefully slipped away to be with the Lord on Monday, December 7, 2020 at her residence.  She was born on October 17, 1941 in Anson County, North Carolina to the late Bert Tillman.

Jean was raised in Hoke County, North Carolina where she graduated from Hoke County High School.  In 1970 to make a better life for herself and children she moved her family to Norfolk, VA.  Everyone knew her kids were her pride and joy as she raised them by herself as a single parent.  Jean retired from Albano Cleaners where she worked for more than 30 years.  She was a faithful member of Way of the Truth Church, Norfolk, VA. She will always be remembered for her loyalty to family and friends, generous heart, awesome cooking, stylish impeccable fashion outfits and her love for GOD.

She was predeceased by her Grandmother, Johnsie Tillman, brother Jerry Tillman, sister Thelma Tillman, and grandchildren Tristin Knight and Jalisa Knight.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories seven loving children, Barbara Brown (Kevin), Lawrence Knight (Selena), Sharon Knight (Richard), Gary Knight (Angelia), Regina Hinton (Vincent), Marion Drake (Darren) and Tracy Floyd (Carmen); 23 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren; Siblings, James Tillman, Deloris Cunningham, Diane Manual and Steve Tillman.  In addition, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
