Earl O. Lewis, Sr., 76, peacefully slipped away into the waiting arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 26, 2020.
Earl was born July 30, 1943, in Dolphin, Virginia to the late, Moses and Elizabeth Lewis.
He attended Southside Community College, where he received a welding licenses and served honorably in the Air Force for 4 years, as well as, the Virginia National Guard. He owned Daylight Donut Shop in Kansas City, and was the proprietor of Handy Man Lawn Service. Earl was also employed for Chesapeake Public School for 16 years as a School Bus Driver.
On February 14, 1999, he married Marva Vera Johnson and their sweet union lasted for 21 years until his death.
Earl was a faithful member of Calvary Revival Church, Norfolk Virginia for 15 years. He served on the Security Team and was faithful in the Maintenance Ministry for many years.
He had a passion for creating and maintaining beautiful lawns for several clients over Tidewater Area, to include assisting in the manicure and occasional upkeep of Calvary Revival Church and the Discover Life Center properties.
He was predeceased in death by his parents, Elizabeth and Moses Lewis; and sister, Virginia Samuels.
Along with his devoted wife, Earl is survived by his sisters, Evon Harrell of Warfield, Virginia, Elizabeth Jones of Durham, North Carolina, and Edith Tucker of Neosho, Missouri; 4 children, Earl Lewis Jr. (Tresscline) of Charlotte, North Carolina, Derrick Lewis of Durham, North Carolina, Curtis Lewis (Lakeyshia) of Henderson, North Carolina, and Tiffany Hill (James) of Warfield, VA; 3 step-children, Serina Wiggins, Regina Grimes (Travis), and E. Kumasi Johnson; 19 grandchildren; 22 great- grandchildren; brother-in-law, Thomas Jeffries, Jr. (Jeritza); nieces; nephews; and a host of many loved ones and friends.
