Edward Crews, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather transitioned peacefully on Sunday, May 30th, 2021. He was born on March 20th, 1938 in Somerville, NJ. to Alvis and Christine Crews.
Raised in Durham, North Carolina and Plainfield, New Jersey. Edward joined the U.S. Army in 1956, where he served proudly. After military service, he worked for 30 years with the Ford Motor Company in Edison, NJ, until retiring in 2000. Edward was a huge NY Giants football fan. He was an avid bowler and loved playing horseshoes. Edward was active in his communities, being involved with several civic and social organizations. He also loved to travel and spend time with his family.
His love and values will be reflected by his surviving family members. His wife Mamie S. Crews of Chesapeake; four children Leon, Kevin, Stephen, and Nanette; four step-children, Christopher, Charles, Tony, and Rusty (pre-deceased); and a host of loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
