Edward Thomas Kellam Jr. was born on November 26, 1958, in Melfa, Virginia to the late Lillie Mae and Edward Kellam Sr.
He was affectionately known by family and friends as “Dooley, Dooley Bop, Uncle.” Dooley enjoyed fishing, cooking on the grill, and, most of all, spending time with his family. 35 years ago he meet the love of his life Vanessa ( Trice, Aunt ) who he loved and adored dearly. September 2017 they were joined together in holy matrimony.
He attended the Accomack County School System and was a dedicated worker throughout his life. Edward was employed with Holley Farms, Mack’s Carpet World, and the City of Norfolk, Department of Utilities, where he retired after 30 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lillie Mae and Edward Kellam Sr.; his maternal grandparents, Elizabeth and Linwood Drummond; Paternal grandparents, Maggie and Smallwood Kellam, Two brothers Anthony Kellam Sr, Eric Shields, one granddaughter, Denell Brooks.
Edward leaves to cherish his loving memory his wife, Vanessa Smith of Norfolk, Virginia; one son, Edward George of Salisbury, Maryland; one daughter, Marlo Wynn of Chesapeake, Virginia; two granddaughters, Kayla Moses of Chesapeake, Virginia, and Ah’Breah Robinson of Chesapeake, Virginia; one grandson, Lamont Brooks Jr; five great-grandchildren; five sisters, Maggie ( Johnnie ) Johnson of Norfolk, Virginia, Cassandra ( Steve ) Walker, Elsie ( Kirk ) Taylor of High Point, North Carolina, Claire Shields, Renee Shields Both of Painter, Virginia, Camellia ( James) of Indiana; one brother Cornelius ( Tawana ) Turlington of Philadelphia, PA: one adopted sister Karen Downing of Temperanceville, Virginia; one sister -n- Law Karen Sweeney of Norfolk, Virginia and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family
