On Sunday, March 15, 2026, our sister and aunt known as “Liz” departed this earth at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital in Virginia Beach, Va. She was predeceased by her parents Leander and Dorothy Taylor Wheaton and eldest brother Clayton Lee Wheaton.
“Liz” accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age & became a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Va Beach VA, over 40 years until she became ill and attended Little Piney Grove Baptist Church with her family. Liz graduated from First Colonial High School in 1972 and attended Anne’s Beauty Academy on 21st Street in the City of Norfolk, VA and graduated with her Cosmetologist License. Her passion was hair, fashion, beauty and style. She was employed by Naval Air Station Oceana as a Service Station Attendant and a Telephone Operator. She also retired from the City of VB Bus Transportation as a Bus Assistant Aid and became an entrepreneur of numerous Salons under “Hair by Liz”. Elizabeth’s personality and character was infectious everywhere she went. Very talkative and always had a sense of humor. She had many interests and hobbies that she enjoyed. Just naming a few; traveling, music, dancing, shopping, fashion, fishing, makeup (her favorite gold & orange lip stick) and platinum blonde hairstyles.
She is survived by her one sister and brother in love: Deborah W Davis (Ronnie), one brother: William Thomas Wheaton, one nephew: Ronnie S Davis II, one niece: Tre’na Monique Davis, one great niece Nevaeh Monique Ball & one great nephew Amari Jakai Assante Adams, and her special caregiver Sharika Copeland and a host of cousins, relatives and friends.
If I should go tomorrow
If I should go tomorrow, It would never be goodbye. For I have left my heart with you, So don't you ever cry.
The love that's deep within me, Shall reach you from the stars,
You'll feel it from the heavens, And it will heal all the scars.
