On January 1, 2023, an angel came down from heaven to reward Ernest Leon (Rabbit) Jefferson with his wings. Ernest was born in Norfolk, VA to the late Jimmy Jenkins, Sr. & Mary Maggaline Jefferson, on July 22, 1963. He is preceded also by two brothers: Danny Boy Jenkins and Jimmy Jenkins, Jr.

Ernest finished his education at Indian River Jr. High School, Chesapeake. He proceeded to work with his father as a mechanic, with his sister in the janitorial field, an Upholstery shop learning furniture restoration. He had other trades, carpet and flooring, roofing, painter, etc. You can say, he was a trick of all trades. He was known for his big heart of letting anyone into his life. He did not care if you took advantage of him, he still treated you without judgement. His laugh and his unique ways about will be forgotten.

Left to cherish his precious memories; four daughters; Miracle Jefferson, Monika Jefferson, Dystiny Jefferson, and Sheshep Akhu Baker; five sisters; Eunice Jefferson, Mary Branch (Brian), Yvonne Holley, Queenie Wyche (Mack), and Terry Jones; three brothers; Matthew Jefferson, Ronald Jefferson (Tiffany), and Roy Jenkins (Shirley); one granddaughter; Ava Boyd; one aunt; Vernell Rodgers; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
