Ms. Ernestine Palmer Reid was born on July 5, 1932 in Norfolk, Virginia to the late Solomon T. Palmer and Virginia Palmer Watford.
Ernestine was known as “Puddin” Palmer Reid. Ernestine was called home to be with the Lord on March 25th, 2023. Ernestine was an active member at Saint Mark RZUA Church in Norfolk, Virginia for many faithful years until illness prevented her to continue. She held office as Deaconess and Usher.

Puddin was well known for her sweet potato pies and hot rolls!! She was also employed many years as a chef and manager at Western Sizzling Steak house also in Norfolk, Virginia.
Ernestine is a mother of seven children, four boys and three girls: Vernon (Gloria), Arlene (Red), Brenda (Roosvelt), Phern (Kenneth), Eugene (Nancy), Artelius (Bernitta), and Michael (Kathy).

She was the wife of the late Curley L. Reid, and has five brothers, five sisters, and was blessed with Seventeen grandchildren and many great-great grands, a host of nephews and nieces, a very supportive friend, Sue Parker, and an adopted daughter, Jean Scarboro, and the staff of Lake Taylor Hospital and hospice.
