She was born to Ralph Lawton and Geneva Solomon on August 24, 1967. Geneva graduated from I.C. Norcom High School and went on to live a fulfilling life. She had a heart to help others and pursued that passion in many ways. She worked with ForKids, Inc. leading the Gardening Angels, then found her passion as she became the first librarian for ForKids.  As a student, she worked in the Tidewater Community College Library. She also served her community by working at Indian River Library, for many years until she retired in 2010.  Also, with working and battling Breast Cancer, Geneva met the hours needed to become a qualifying candidate for the family home through Habitat for Humanity.

In 2017, Geneva walked across the stage of Tidewater Community College obtaining her Associate of Science Degree in General Studies graduating with Magna Cum Laude. While attending Tidewater Community College she made the President’s Honor Roll achieving the highest academic honor at the College.

She is survived by her daughter Carolyn, her son Maxie, her grandson Terrence, and her bonus children: Shanice, Terrell, Areli, Precious, and Aaron. She is also survived by her parents Geneva Solomon and Ralph Lawton. She is survived by her 4 siblings: Ralpheana, Savaadra, Ralph Jr., and Shannon. She had many nieces and nephews.
