Obituary

George Gill, III was born on October 4, 1968 in Norfolk, VA and was called home to be with the Lord on April 26, 2023.  He leaves to mourn, his loving wife, Rebecca “Don” Gill and son Makale Joyner.

Everybody called George, “Bud.” He attended Lake Taylor High school in Norfolk, VA. He was a career mechanic and a salvage employee.

George enjoyed life. He loved spending time with his family, working on cars, and volunteering. He was a special caregiver for his Uncle Ronnie Anthony Gill. An avid sports fan, he cheered for his favorite football team, the New York Giants.  

He was preceded in death by his father George Gill, Jr. and step-father Augustus “A.C.” Curenthuis Alston. He was the oldest of three children.

He leaves behind his loving mother Julia Ann Alston, brother Ronnie (Teresa) Gill of Las Vegas, NV, brother Augustus (Tennile) Gill of Norfolk, VA and Uncle Melvin Johnson of Norfolk, VA. He also leaves to cherish his memory a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many other beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and extended family.
