Gladiola Holloman Obituary

Her Memory Deaconess Gladiola Holloman

Deaconess Gladiola (Gladys) Elizabeth Marie Holloman was born on September 23, 1942, to the late Daniel Bell and Marie Johnson in Princess Anne County, Virginia. On July 8, 2023, she departed peacefully into eternal rest, free from all pain and suffering. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Roosevelt Holloman, Sr., her daughter, Apostle Mary Ann Mendez, her son-in-law, Elder Tony Mendez, her granddaughter, Shelletta Holloman, her grandson, Johnathan Holloman, her brother Eugene Johnson, her sister Shirley Bell, and her brother Roy Daniel Bell. Her memory will be forever cherished and honored by her daughter, Minister Joann (Drake), Deacon Roosevelt, Jr. (Marie), Apostle Randy, Sr. (Apostle Rhonda), a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and family and friends.

She was an industrious and zealous individual who was driven to succeed in every endeavor. Her career included her devotion to C&M Cafeteria and R & R Standard, Inc.

Deaconess Gladiola represented and modeled attributes and functions of a true Christian soldier. She refused to allow her illness, or any other tribulations, to deter her from church or from praising her Lord and Savior. In support of her son, Apostle Randy Holloman, Sr., Deaconess Gladiola served under his pastoral leadership at Christ Empowered Ministries, Inc. She faithfully served as head deaconess, head user, and over the kitchen ministry until her help declined. She was loved, respected and affectionately called “Mother Holloman”.

Deaconess Gladiola’s gentle spirit and kindness was captivating. She always embraced others with a warm smile and had a way of seeing the best in everyone. She knew that prayer was the solution to every problem. Although we will greatly miss her, the memories of her life are everlasting.
