Gladys Wiggins Obituary

Gladys Wiggins departed peacefully at Sentara Leigh Hospital on February 13, 2020. She was born June 22, 1941 in Scotland Neck, NC to the late William and Viola Morgan. In 1975, she wed her late, beloved husband Jasper ‘Jabbo’ Wiggins. From this union, they had two children Joshua McKinley Wiggins (Lisa), Diana Ross Norfleet (predeceased by Michael); 2 children from a previous marriage, the late Thomas Earl Wishop  (Shelley), & Jerome Stan Wishop; Grandchildren, Devante Norfleet  (Boo Knot), Loretta Norfleet (Lo Lo), Joshua Wiggins, Jr. (Lil Josh), Jasper Wiggins (Super J), Emmanuel Wishop (Man-Man), Hadassah Wishop (Dassah), Gayshon Cuffee & Diamond Cuffee; Great granddaughter, Majeste Williams (Pumkin); Siblings, Minnie Wiggins (Edward cheetah), Cathy Bellamy (predeceased by James), the late Gilbert Morgan (Geraldine), the late Willie Morgan, Jr. (the late Dorothy), Mary Myrick (James), the late Shirley Myrick (Henry), Jeanette Morgan; and a host of other nieces, nephews, loved ones & friends.

She was retired from Virginia Beach Public Schools. Gladys was active member of Light of Life Ministries. She loved everyone she came in contact with and they loved her. She was also known as Tootsie, Ma, Gleedis, Gladys Mae, but whatever u called her she was one of a kind & touched everyone she came in contact with.

Through it all she was one “tough cookie”. She hung in there longer than most, now she is reunited with our loved ones that have gone before us. Rest assured her living was not in vain. She was blessed through it all. Everywhere she was, you better believe it was Jabbo & Gladys. The love showed through actions and spilled on to others by example will carry on.
