James Slade

James Henry Slade affectionately known by most as “Nuck”, was born December 30, 1956 in Halifax County, NC to the late Samuel D. Slade Sr and Ethel Tillery Bradley Slade. Nuck attended Chesapeake Public schools and worked for The City of Chesapeake, Shaddeau Roofing, Baker Roofing, and American GFM Corporation.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers; William (Bobby) Tillery, Arkue Bradley, Donald Bradley, and Samuel Slade Jr. One sister Carolyn Moore and two nephews, Arkue Alonzo, and Christopher Etheridge. He leaves to cherish his memories his children Shawn and Latosha Riddick, Ernest, Mario, Damien, Tanesha, and Chevelle Parker, and Antoine McCrary. His grandchildren, His siblings Louise Bradley, Shirley Slade, Snody Slade(Rebecca), and Augustus Slade(Wanda). Eight nieces and 10 nephews, a host of other relatives and friends.

Special thanks to the staff of Signature Healthcare of Norfolk for all of their care and support of our loved one. We will always remember Nuck for his smile, sense of humor and great culinary skills.
