Obituary for James Williams, Sr.
James Williams, Sr., entered eternal rest on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, surrounded by his family. He was born April 13, 1942, to the late Charlie and Mary Williams in Princess Anne County, VA. James was a member of the Connect Church in Virginia Beach where he served faithfully until his health began to fail. He is preceded in death by his parents and seven siblings: Mary Frances Askew, Oscar Williams, Otis Lee Williams, Charlie Williams, Jr., Matilda McCann, Mark David Williams, and Jesse Williams.
James was a loving family man. He is survived by his children: Alex Riddick (Kristi) of Suffolk, VA; James Williams, Jr. (Latonia) of Chesapeake, VA; Cheryl Perry of Virginia Beach, VA and Brian Williams (Monica) of Norfolk, VA; his grandchildren: Kendall Johnson (Tonika), Alexis Riddick, Lanordo Tyson, James A. Williams (Danica), Travelle Tyson, Thomas George, III, Timmy Lee Wilson, Breanna Williams, LaKisha Williams, Michaela Williams, and Sonyah Williams; 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters and caregivers, Ms. Willie Pearl Hunt and Ms. Beatrice Wooten, both of Norfolk, VA; one aunt, Rosa Mae “Lil’ Sis” Johnson; one uncle, Walter “Dick” Land; his fiancée, Rachel Campbell; his adopted family, who loved him very much, Emmet Kello (Charlena) and Mona of Norfolk, VA; a special friend, Bubba Collins; a very special cousin, Robert “Cousin Pop” Holloman, Jr., who was like a brother until the end; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
