James Lee Drummond, 70, of Onancock, Virginia, departed from this Earth on May 7 th , 2026, at Shore Rehab in Parksley, Virginia. James was born on February 1, 1956, to the late Mary Ann Riley and Eugene Davis.
James, affectionately known as “Jimmy Lee” or “Jim Buck.” He received his education in the
Accomack County Public School System.
James was a funny, joking, and outgoing person. It was never a time that he didn’t have a joke to tell or a smart remark waiting for you. James sure didn’t mind giving others nicknames that he felt suited them.
James did various jobs throughout his life, such as working for Mike Truitt, Holly Farm “Tysons”, and Frank Jones Lumber. James also worked for himself as a mechanic.
James was predeceased by his parents, Mary Ann Riley and Eugene Davis; his son, James Drummond Jr.; his sisters, Doretha Matthews and Doris Neal; and his brothers, Eugene Davis and Elvis Drummond.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his son Reicko Miles of Virginia Beach, thirteen grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren, sisters: Deshirley Riley of Witham, VA, Arlette Harris of Onancock, Virginia, and brothers: Sherwood Riley of Cincinnati, Ohio, Duval (Gladys) Davis of Clarksville, TN, Bobby Finney of Dover, DE, Perry Finney of Parksley, VA, Noah Matthews of Withams, VA, Victor Matthews of Onancock, VA, Laron (Brenda) Smith of
Parksley, VA, Terrance (Alisa) Smith of Bloxom, VA. A special friend, Michael Parker Sr. His special caretaker, Kenyatta (Penny) Hall, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
