Janice Davis Obituary

Janice Marline Davis, a devout daughter, sister, aunt, mother and grandmother, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday morning, February 28, 2021, at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital, Onancock, VA. Her mother Ethel, sister Dotty, her daughter Jacinda and her son Milton was at her side. Janice was born July 16, 1954, and she was the fourth child and second daughter of Ethel Davis Thompson and the late Frank Davis, Sr in Williamsburg, Maryland. She was reared by her God-parents the late Louise and Milton Murphy in Painter, VA.

Our family was raised in the church and had our own personal relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ but God gave her daughter Jacinda another opportunity to share the gospel with her mom on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 and she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.  “We are confident, I say and willing rather to be absent from the body and present with the Lord.”  2 Corinthians 5:8

Janice loved painting, working crossword puzzles, and spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed having lunch or dinner with her cousin Sandra Brickhouse and would travel many places with her friend Minnie Faulcon.

Although she would put up a fuss, she took joy in caring for her nieces, nephews, grandchildren great grand-child and any child that was in need of her care. Before her health begin to fail, the last two children she cared for was her granddaughter Miliya and her great granddaughter, La’Kayla. The apple of her eye was her grandson Isaiah M. Baines.

She is survived by Robert L. Byrd (Special Friend) of Exmore, VA; her two children, daughter, Jacinda R. (Lawerance) Baines of Painter, VA; son, Milton C. Sullivan (Fiancé Shashonnie Harris) of New Church, VA; four grandsons; six granddaughters; one great-granddaughter; mother, Ethel Thompson of St. Michael’s, MD; four brothers, William Davis, of Cambridge, MD, George (Kisha) Davis, of Milford, DE, Travian (Jennifer) Davis of Denton, MD, and Ricky (Tracy) Lake, of Cambridge, MD; two sisters, Laura Bridges, of Atlanta, GA and Dotty (Ricky) Kellum of Easton, MD., and a host of other family members and friends.
